Pro-Cam Launches Aerial Division
After the debut of SHOTOVER’s new U1 at the 2nd annual International Drone Expo, Pro-Cam Rentals, North America’s largest supplier of telescopic camera cranes and remote systems, and SHOTOVER, the maker of high performance stabilization platforms, announced that Pro-Cam is launching a new aerial division to supply the broadcast and motion picture industry with the first SHOTOVER U1 unmanned aerial systems.
“The response we have received for the U1 has been tremendous and we are pleased to count Pro-Cam as one our earliest adopters,” said SHOTOVER president Alex Giuffrida. “Pro-Cam shares the SHOTOVER vision of helping motion picture and television productions push the limits of their aerial and stabilized shots and we look forward to supporting them in their efforts on assignments around the world.”
The SHOTOVER U1 sets a new standard for drone cinematography and imaging as the first solution to accommodate cinema quality cameras and lenses including the 6K RED Weapon, ARRI Alexa Mini, Phantom Flex4K and Sony F55 cameras and the Canon 17-120mm, Fujinon 85-300 and Optimo 28-76 lenses.
Brian Breithaupt, President of Pro-Cam Rentals, added “We are very excited to have this opportunity to represent the SHOTOVER U1 UAS as our new aerial division’s flagship system. SHOTOVER’s commitment to safety, service, and performance will give Pro-Cam the cutting edge tools necessary for our continued pursuit of excellence in providing creative, efficient, and cost effective camera movement technologies to the motion picture industry.”
“Having worked with gyro stabilized heads for nearly 20 years, the U1 was first recommended sight unseen months before its public release, based on SHOTOVER’s reputation alone,” said Aaron York, Chief Engineer of Pro-Cam Aerial Division. “After a thorough review of the emerging UAS market it became obvious that SHOTOVER applied their motion picture expertise to engineer a 360 degree turnkey UAS solution far superior to anything else available, giving Pro-Cam the opportunity to set a new standard in the unmanned aerial systems space.”
Michael-Ryan Fletchall, Pro-Cam Aerial Division’s Chief Pilot, added “Safety is the number one priority in aviation, so we spent months building on Pro-Cam’s foundation of superior safety standards on ground-based equipment to identify and implement processes, procedures, and technologies that would deliver on that reputation in the air. SHOTOVER’s redundant flight systems and an emergency parachute, camera stabilization, and flight performance, gives our clients the piece of mind in safety and high quality standards they have come to expect when renting from us.”
